Aman Sahota- A Journey of Resilience and Leadership

Born in Punjab, India, Aman moved to Dubai at the age of five, where he faced the challenges of adapting to a new environment as an introverted and shy child. Struggling with his weight and confidence, Aman often found school to be a daunting experience, with his academic performance reflecting these internal battles.

As Aman grew older, sports became a sanctuary for him. By Excelling in various athletic activities, he started to build confidence, although his introverted nature remained a part of his identity. His dedication to sports paid off in his final year of high school, where he achieved excellent grades and graduated with a sense of pride and accomplishment.

At eighteen, Aman made a bold decision that would forever change his life. He moved to the United States alone, leaving behind the familiar comforts of his family. This decision brought with it a significant cultural shock and the daunting task of figuring out his identity and aspirations in a new country. To support himself, Aman took on various odd jobs while pursuing his college education. His  fierce determination to succeed saw him land his first significant job in sales, selling cell phones. This role was a turning point, marking his initial taste of success and setting the stage for his entrepreneurial spirit to flourish.

Three years later, Aman’s parents joined him in the United States, providing a renewed sense of purpose and a much-needed support. It was during this period that he ventured into entrepreneurship, starting his first company. In 2007, Aman met the love of his life, and in a whirlwind romance, he proposed to her on the seventh day of their meeting. Despite their parents’ disapproval, the couple eloped, beginning a new chapter together. Today, they are the proud parents of three children: two daughters, aged four and ten, and a sixteen-year-old son.

Aman’s wife filled an emptiness he had felt, not just with her love but with strong family values that have been their anchor through every storm.

Aman’s entrepreneurial journey continued with ventures into the food industry in 2010 and the transportation industry in 2017. However, the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic dealt a severe blow to his transportation businesses, leading to their closure in October 2023 and forcing Aman to file for bankruptcy. This humbling experience necessitated starting over from scratch.

Despite these setbacks, Aman has always found solace in helping others. Throughout his life, he has faced repeated failures and struggled with imposter syndrome. No matter how much success he achieved, it never seemed enough. Yet, his passion for supporting others brought him immense satisfaction. Recognizing his talent for mentorship, many encouraged him to become a consultant or coach. Embracing this role, Aman worked tirelessly to develop his leadership style and help others achieve their full potential.

As Aman approaches his forties, he remains an introvert and continues to wrestle with confidence issues and the fear that success may elude him. However, his perspective on failure has evolved significantly. His wife has been his unwavering support, standing by him even during their darkest times, including when they were down to just $52 in their bank account with no way to borrow money for food.

The key difference now is that Aman embraces failure. He understands that every failure is a stepping stone to success, making him stronger and wiser. He believes that if he fails enough times and learns from his mistakes, he will eventually find success. But even if he never feels “successful,” he finds immense comfort in knowing that he is surrounded by loved ones who cherish him for who he is, not for his achievements or failures.

Aman’s commitment to coaching and mentoring others remains a significant part of his life. He finds refuge in helping extraordinary people find success in their personal and professional lives. Motivating people to be the best they can be brings him a sense of fulfillment that words cannot describe. He believes in the transformative power of great leadership and works daily to be an exemplary leader while helping others do the same.

Aman’s story serves as an inspiration to others to pursue their dreams, no matter how daunting they may seem. It is a reminder to embrace failure as a stepping stone to success, to find strength in relationships, and to continually strive for personal and professional growth. We all have the power to create our own success stories, and Aman’s journey is a shining example of what is possible with perseverance, passion, and a positive mindset.
